Since school, I've been...
I worked at Disney for six years as a cook for King Stefans and then went to Control Laser for about a year and going to Valencia at the same time for Electronics. Things were not looking good for Control Laser at that time and so I started working at a Shell station. I then decided to go full time at the Sloans Shell station on Colonial Drive. I worked there for about seven years as mechanic/manager until the pressure was on them into making it a convenience store 24/7. I then went to Tops in Detail as the Window Tinter for about a year or so. Things were not working out there and so I was able to get on at Regal Marine in building boats. I worked there for about five years and survived about six different layoffs until I was the only one in my department. Things were getting tough for Regal and so I decided to move on and I went to Babbitts Bindery in Winter Park. I worked there for about four years until I decided to go back to school. That business had been sold since I left and went to Memphis School of Preaching in 96. This school is a four year course wrapped up into two solid years with no time to work parttime anywhere but in preaching. |
My family:
I got married in 1979 to a 76 graduate of Oak Ridge, the former Teresa Wright. We waited about seven years until having children upon buying a three bedroom home. Chad Austin was born Jan. 6, 1987 and then Caleb Shane was born Nov. 9, 1989. They have been two wonderful boys that have enriched our lives. Teresa and I are still wonderfully and happily married. |
Life experiences:
I have learned alot through the years and have only a few regrets but the best years have been more than enough to make up for it. Becoming a Christian was just one of my greatest life experiences, getting married and having children were the others and then becoming a preacher. |
My favorite things in school:
Just being with my friends and being in Band were the best times. In 1976, we went on a band trip to Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and New York and it was the best of all trips because of it being the Bicentennial Year of our country. |
My favorite things now:
I like tinkering around on computers and seeing what makes them tick. |
My favorite books, movies and music:
I like westerns, Jerry Lewis movies, and other comedies. I still like the 70s pop music but like the oldies of the 50s and 60s. I like the oldies in country but like some of the new country singers of today. |
